You just twist of the little metal dohicky at the bottom and throw in a couple of triple A batteries and you are off and running. Because I have sensitive skin I am always a little hesitant because metals can trigger a reaction. The metal on this one doesn't hurt my skin at all. And seriously this little guy just cuts those little suckers right off my legs and arm pits and leave them nice and silky. It's so compact too and user friendly on your hands. Not big and bothersome like my X BF....lol.
